Why we started SafCY
Most breaches are preventable, and real people pay the price when they happen. Our mission is to protect the web and keep people safe.
Every week brings a new headline: leaked customer records, ransomware in a hospital, a fine for mishandled personal data. Behind each one are real people. A patient whose records were exposed. A small-business owner whose savings were drained. A family whose identity documents now circulate on criminal forums.
We started SafCY because most of these stories never had to happen.
Almost every breach is preventable
When you read enough incident reports, a pattern emerges. The cause is rarely a genius attacker with an unstoppable exploit. It is usually something ordinary:
- a server that missed a patch for months;
- a cloud storage bucket left open to the internet;
- an API that returns someone else’s data when you change one number;
- a password reused from a breach years ago; or
- a privacy policy that says one thing while the systems do another.
These are not exotic problems, and they are not hard to fix. They persist because organisations don’t know they have them, can’t get clear answers about them, or can’t afford the help they need.
That gap, between how preventable most breaches are and how often they still happen, is why SafCY exists.
Our mission: protect the web and keep people safe
The internet is now where people bank, learn, see doctors, run businesses and stay in touch with the people they love. When it is unsafe, people get hurt. Not abstractly, but in their finances, their privacy and their peace of mind.
Our mission is to protect the web and keep the people who rely on it safe. We do that by making the organisations that hold their data measurably harder to breach and easier to trust.
Every system we test, every vulnerability we help fix and every privacy programme we put in place means fewer people’s data in the wrong hands.
Security should be the default, not a luxury
For too long, serious security has been something only large enterprises could afford. Smaller organisations, the startups, hospitals, schools, manufacturers and growing businesses, often hold just as much sensitive data with a fraction of the protection.
We want to change that. SafCY brings together security engineers, penetration testers, privacy specialists and auditors in one team, so any organisation can:
- Find its weak spots, through vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and red teaming across IT, cloud and industrial (OT/ICS) systems;
- Fix them, with clear, prioritised findings and practical guidance, not a 300-page report nobody reads;
- Prove it, with retests, evidence and compliance support for the frameworks they answer to, from CERT-In and the DPDP Act to ISO/IEC 27001; and
- Stay protected, through continuous monitoring between tests and 24×7 incident response when something goes wrong.
Privacy and security belong together
A breach is a security failure and a privacy failure at the same time. Yet most organisations treat the two separately: one team patches servers while another writes policies, and neither checks the other’s work.
India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 makes the link explicit. Its largest penalties are reserved for failing to take reasonable security safeguards. We built SafCY to combine offensive security skills with practical privacy know-how, because protecting people’s data requires both.
What we stand for
Our principles shape how we work with every client:
- Radical transparency. Clear scopes, clear pricing, and reports that hide nothing.
- Privacy by default. We handle your data the way we tell you to handle your customers’.
- Outcomes over output. We measure success by risk reduced, not pages written.
- Always learning. Threats evolve weekly, and so does our team’s training.
We also believe in people, not just scanners. Automated tools are useful, but they miss the flaws that matter most: broken business logic, chained weaknesses and the mistakes only a curious human notices. Every engagement is led by an experienced practitioner who reviews every finding.
Where we’re going
We’re building SafCY for the long term. Our vision is a digital world where privacy is respected by design and security is nobody’s afterthought. We will get there one organisation, one fixed vulnerability and one protected person at a time.
If you share that goal, whether as a client, a partner or a future colleague, we would love to hear from you.
Talk to us about how we can help keep your organisation, and the people who trust it, safe.
